Provence holds a special place in my heart. While living in Switzerland we often traveled to the rural French countryside of Provence to visit the hill towns, the Mediterranean and the lavender when in bloom. After a day on location I would have three or four field studies that could be used to create larger paintings in the studio.
Some painters are attracted to Paris street scenes. I will always choose to be in the small towns and open fields.
